Broncos cut Henry
By Micah Warren | 5 Comments
The Denver Broncos have cut RB Travis Henry. This is surprising for a guy that just signed a five-year $22.5 million deal in March 2007.
“We did not feel his commitment to the Broncos was enough to warrant a spot on this football team,” coach Mike Shanahan said in a written statement.
“Although Travis has the […]
Vikings kick Erasmus to the curb
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
The Vikings have released former first-round pick Erasmus James.
So they now have two missing first-round picks from the 2005 draft. WR Troy Williamson was absolutely crap that couldn’t catch the ball if he was paid to do so (which we think he was). He is now with the Jags.
Bengals release another misfit
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
The Bengals have released problem-child LB Odell Thurman for what they explain as not taking the right steps to get back in their good graces. His drug and alcohol issues got him suspended for the entire 2006 season.
“The NFL provided Odell the opportunity to earn his way back onto our team, but we have […]
Denver could cut Travis Henry
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
There are rumors that the Broncos have preliminary interest in Shaun Alexander or Dominic Rhodes. That’s all well and good, but if they were to sign one of the veteran running backs, look for Travis Henry to be cut.
Supposedly, the Broncos really like Selvin Young and fifth-round pick Ryan Torain. The addition of another […]
Adam Archuleta cut

Adam Archuleta has been cut by the Bears. We’re sure someone will sign him but we aren’t exactly sure why they would.

We can’t ignore the overwhelming support we are receiving from our biggest fan ‘barry.’ He is one of the main reasons that OTR is able to keep it going. His brilliant posting on comments and the respect he gives Micah and I is second to none. Furthermore, without hesitation we are giving […]
Rams flip off Byrd
By Micah Warren | 2 Comments
Clever, right? The Rams released TE Dominique Byrd, a former third-round pick in 2006 that has trouble not hitting bar patrons in the face with drinking glasses.
Byrd is supposed to stand trial next week for the 2005 incident. He also was arrested in March 2007 on DUI charges in California.
Rhodes s*** canned
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
John Clayton of ESPN reports that Dominic Rhodes is done as a Raider, just two days after they selected Darren McFadden with the #4 overall pick.
Apparently they think that McFadden can handle all of their needs regarding urinating in the front seat of a cop car during a DUI arrest.
And…..it’s official, Alexander gone

Shaun Alexander has officially been released from the Seahawks. MVP in 2005, waiver wire in 2008. Oh how the mighty have fallen.
Shaun Alexander to get cut today
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
According to a report from KJR-AM, the Seattle Seahawks have informed Shaun Alexander that he will be released today.
Anyone surprised? Alexander has been stealing money from the Seahawks for the last two years. He looks like he’s been running on the beach.
Chris Henry released
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
The Bengals have cut Chris Henry. Henry claims that this recent arrest was all a big “Three’s Company” episode, but apparently the Bengals don’t care. Here is a statement from Benglas president Mike Brown:
“Chris Henry has forfeited his opportunity to pursue a career with the Bengals. His conduct can no longer be tolerated.
“The […]

Kevin Jones and Cadillac Williams to start new bowling team?
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
Well, they’ll have to do something other than play football. According to Profootballtalk.com and Mlive.com, Kevin Jones was told this morning by the Detroit Lions that his services would no longer be required. A former first-round pick, Jones has been battling foot problems the past few years.
Considering who the other running backs […]
The end is nigh for Alexander
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
Shouldn’t be any surprise to anyone. KJR’s Softy Mahler (I guess that’s a person? Fruity smoothie drink? I’ll have a raspberry Softy Mahler, hold the cucumber) is reporting that Shaun Alexander will likely be cut soon. From the Seahawks insider blog:
“We ran into Mike Holmgren in the parking lot of the […]
Eagles Cut Takeo
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
Anthony Gargano of 610 WIP has reported that the Eagles have cut Takeo Spikes. He played for one year with the Eagles, but his $5 million base salary was just too much for a player with his production.
Let’s speculate: Making cap room for Larry Fitz? Stay tuned.
Perry’s Mailbag: Coming Soon To A Friday Near You
By Perry | 1 Comment
I want to apologize for not getting Perry’s Mailbag up last Friday, especially to one of OTR’s dearest fans Lindsey. As most of you know, I was following the Asante Samuel story in Boston on Thursday night and continued my hot pursuit all day Friday until the early evening press conference around 5:00pm EST that […]
Falcons join the fun
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
Apparently, it’s a lot of fun to jettison QB Joey Harrington, and the Atlanta Falcons have done just that. Harrington is running out of opportunities, but he’ll likely get a chance to be a backup somewhere. Maybe Oakland will sign him for $50 million in guaranteed money.
Dunn Done: Falcon Released.
By Perry | Leave a Comment
The recent signing of Michael Turner has led to the Atlanta Falcons releasing Warrick Dunn. After being named offensive rookie of the year in 1997, Dunn continued to have 11 solid years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then the Atlanta Falcons. It’s a good thing he was released, because Dan Snyder and the Washington […]
Rams cut Bruce

Isaac Bruce has been released by the Rams on the eve of free agency.
Bruce was a phenomenal player for the Rams over the years, but he has been getting old. He’ll catch on somewhere, he can still be productive.
We wouldn’t want to be Scott Spiezio
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
Interesting story: The St. Louis Cardinals have cut Scott Spiezio and it wasn’t because of the dumb red goatee. Six charges have been filed against Spiezio stemming from a December 30th evening of fun. The charges are: driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving under the influence with a blood […]

Muhsin Muhammad is like a kid who played with scissors
By Micah Warren | Leave a Comment
He got cut. According to NFL.com, the Bears have released wide receiver Mushin Muhammad. Considering how impotent the Bears offense is, this doesn’t speak volumes about Muhammad.
Fear not, Muhammad fans, he is still a productive possession receiver that will find a home shortly.
