The Golden State Warriors and their restricted free agent Monta Ellis agreed to a six-year, $67 million contract. Ellis will make $11 million during the 2008-09 season. Considering he made around $770,000 last year, that’s a pretty significant raise.
Ellis was an absolute steal in the 2005 draft. The Warriors found him in the second round with the 40th overall pick. He was drafted out of Lanier High School in Jackson, Mississippi.
He once scored 72 points in a game against Greenwood High School. With this new contract, Monta Ellis should be able to score a lot more than that, if you know what I mean.
