Jaromir Jagr says ‘good-bye’ to the NHL

Former New York Ranger, Washington Capital and Pittsburgh Penguin Jaromir Jagr signed a two-year contract with an option to play for Avangard Omsk, a Russian team that is part of the new Continental Hockey League.

“It was the toughest decision in my life, hockeywise,” Jagr said Friday.

In Jagr’s 18-year career he has accumulated 646 goals, 953 assists, and 907 penalty minutes. He won the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins and Mario Lemieux in 1991 and 1992, and won the League MVP (Hart Trophy) in 1999. Definitely, an amazing talent, ‘hockeywise.’
