It might not be the best idea for us to talk fantasy football considering that we are hosting a fantasy football league here this year and we shouldn’t give away our strategies…but so what? We’re here to provide a service to our readers and if we can help out with your fantasy football league then we’ll do it.
Keep an eye on Marshawn Lynch. Yes, I loved him prior to last year’s draft but I love him more this year. According to buffalobills.com, he’s going to get third down touches this year.
“We held him back and Anthony Thomas handled more of the third down role in the beginning of the season because we didn’t want to throw too much at (Lynch),” offensive coordinator Turk Schonert recalled.
Still, Lynch had 1,115 yards and seven TD’s despite missing three games with a bum ankle, (Had he not missed those three games, Scott and Micah would have won about $2,000 for the total points victory in their Long Island league instead of losing to f’ing Kenny, a dude who was featured in People magazine for fantasy football. All Lynch would have had to do was run for about…oh, I don’t know….10 yards! We lost by a point!) and A-Train is gone this year.
“I anticipate him being in on third down a lot more,” said Schonert of Lynch. “He’s had a year, he understands the protections now and I think this year he’ll be an integral part of our third down package.”
“With the new wrinkles that he has added, speeding up the tempo a little bit it’s exciting,” said Lynch of Schonert’s offensive scheme changes. “Just being able to go out there and catch the defense off guard a few times and probably boost up those stats or something. With the things that he’s been doing I feel it’s going to be a big help for our team.”
Lynch is my guy again this year. Last year I was able to nab him at the bottom of the second round in a 12-team league (higher than most would have, but I wanted him), but this year he’s a solid first rounder.
