baron.jpgBaron Davis can opt out of his contract, but most likely will not. He is scheduled to receive $17.8 million next year and there is no way any team will sign him for that kind of cash.

The Contra Costal Times is reporting that a source is reporting “Detroit is willing to divest itself of long-time stars Rasheed Wallace and Chauncey Billups” for Baron Davis.

Al Harrington’s contract would also be involved so Golden State could match the combined $25 million that Sheed and Bah-Bah-Billups will make.

My opinion? This won’t happen. It sounds too rumorish. Chauncey Billups is expendable because of Rodney Stuckey’s emergence. Detroit plans to have Stuckey play the point, so why would they trade Sheed for another point guard? It doesn’t make sense.

That would be like if Bob Saget had a TV show and they used soon-to-be billionaire twin baby girls to play one role. It doesn’t make any sense and it just doesn’t happen
