Ravens DE/LB tweener Terrell Suggs had an issue with getting the linebacker franchise tag in March. He played more snaps at defensive end and that tag paid more. Well, the two sides agreed to create a hybrid DE/LB tag that would combine the two.
A franchise linebacker has a $8.065 million tender, while a franchise defensive end has an $8.879 million tender. Under the new agreement, Suggs will get $8.5 million.
For those that don’t understand the franchise tag system, when a player gets that tag, he (or she) earns the average of the top five salaries at their position for one year. Apparently, defensive ends make more dough.

Got something to say?

Sweet two Ravens updates in a row! Good day for me.
I knew this would get worked out. Suggs said he wouldn’t make this ugly and true to his word he didn’t.
