Gagne continues to blow, loses closer job

ericgagne.jpgRemember when Eric Gagne used to kick major ass? Remember when he saved 55 games with a 1.20 ERA in 2003? How long ago does that seem?

According to the Brewers, who just took the closer role from him, Gagne is a real Turd Ferguson on the mound.

“He probably needs a little bit of a mental break,” manager Ned Yost said. “He’s really pushing himself really hard and taking it really, really hard. We’ll probably just mix and match.”

So now it looks like closer by committee for the Brewers. That committee includes Guillermo Mota by the way. I said GUILLERMO MOTA.

Just fyi, Gagne has a 6.89 ERA so far this year. Many experts would agree that that stinks.
