For those Republicans out there, or for those of you who think he’s the best of the three candidates, you may want to think again about voting for John McCain (and we aren’t making political commentary here, vote for who you want to, Bush can’t win again). He was just interviewed by Mets sideline reporter Kevin Burkhart in the stands of the Mets/Diamondbacks game. Harmless enough, right? We actually enjoy when politicians talk about sports because they have then officially entered our realm and we can tell if they are full of it or not.
We don’t think McCain is full of it, but we do think he might not be the “big sports fan” he just said he was. He just told Burkhart that it’s great how the Mets and Diamondbacks have developed a real rivalry. He emphasized the legitimacy of the rivalry.
Ummm…..what? OTR has headquarters in the NYC metro area and live amongst the Mets fans. We’ve never heard one person say anything good, bad or otherwise about the Diamondbacks. They aren’t in the same division, they don’t play that often and they haven’t had any recent heated post-seasons series. Sooo….yah.
