According to the new Eagles blog on Philly.com, the Eagles tried to trade up to get Virginia’s Brandon Albert in the first round. The Eagles reportedly tried to get up to the Cardinals spot at #16, knowing that Albert wouldn’t last past the Chiefs. The Cardinals wanted Rodgers-Cromartie and said no thanks (probably because they knew what the Eagles were offering: “Hey Rod! Lito and picks! Lito and picks!” They said no thanks.
But then someone from the Cardinals called the Chiefs (what the? Who does that?) and told them the Eagles were looking to move up ahead of them to make a play for Albert. So the Chiefs called Matt Millen of the Detroit Lions and made a deal with him at #15.
