According to a report on ESPN.com, the negotiations between Johan Santana and the NY Mets aren’t off to the best start. Santana’s agents, Peter and Ed Greenberg, are believed to be asking for a six-year extension in the range of $150 million. They essentially have the Mets feet to the fire. If the Mets blow this and don’t get him signed to a long-term deal, he’ll walk away after one year and, according to some experts, the Mets fans might not be thrilled about that.
