Al Davis Wants Lane Kiffin to Resign

lanekiffin.jpgThis is hilarious. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that Raiders owner Al Davis wants head coach Lane Kiffin to resign after just one year. Supposedly, Kiffin has essentially (or not so essentially) dared Davis to fire him. I love the fact that Davis has gone so far as to draft a letter of resignation for him. In a letter to Kiffin’s legal representatives, Davis says that only he would have control over personnel decisions. According to a source close to Kiffin, that wasn’t exactly the deal when he was hired. It wasn’t the deal at all, actually.

Stay tuned. It looks like Oakland plans to continue to stink for a while.
